The Art & Art History Department is home to the renowned Richard L. Nelson Gallery & Fine Arts Collection. The gallery houses a large and diverse collection of 18th & 19th Century European and American prints, Middle Eastern paintings and artifacts, as well as a large collection of 20th Century American postmodern works from artists such as Robert Arneson, Wayne Thiebaud, Bruce Nauman, Lee Mullican, David Gilhooley, Roy DeForest, and Manuel Neri. The Richard L. Nelson gallery oversees art in public places and the Buehler Alumni Center gallery.

The Robert & Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts will display works from the Nelson Gallery, the Gorman Museum, and the Design Museum on a rotating basis.

The Basement Gallery is a student run gallery that offers students the opportunity to display their art works.
