  • Since graduating with me BA from UC Davis, I've been travelling a lot, living in various places around the country, and making a lot of work. I currently have a studio in Santa Rosa, CA, and am completing my Graduate School Applications.

  • Since leaving UCD I have completed a Masters in Studio Art from California State University Sacramento. While pursuing my degree my husband, fellow artist, and UCD alum took ownership of a Sacramento publication called the Midtown Monthly. In addition I have recently been made Co-director of The Verge Gallery and Studio Project in Downtown Sacramento, the city's newest and largest contemporary art space.

  • After graduating from UCD in 2004, I moved to Lawrence Kansas with my husband. A year later, my daughter Rose was born. We enjoy living here. I am now a full time artist and working on a series of large hair drawings that dealt with tornados and the mid-west natural environment.

  • Since I graduated I have lived and worked in Ireland, San Francisco and now Santa Barbara. I went back to school for my teaching credentials (in Single Subject Art and Multiple Subject Elementary) and now I'm an Art Teacher. I teach Art to grades K-8 at Marymount of Santa Barbara, I love my job. I spend my summers teaching art camp, working on curriculum maps and doing my own paintings.

  • I migrated to the Bay Area for a few years after UCD, working on my art, being involved with various projects in the area. I then shipped off to Pensacola, FL to teach at the University of West Florida as a visiting artist/instructor. Currently, I'm an Assistant Visiting Professor of Art in Drawing at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. The school is about an hour from New Orleans and Baton Rouge, where I reside.

  • Participated in several exhibitions in California from 1998 - 2004. In 04 I started a Website Design and Online Marketing company: Go Traffic Interactive in Napa CA. Having studied Interdisciplinary Media at UCD from 1996 - 1998 gave me advanced knowledge of the Internet, which of course benefits my business.

  • Carter received a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore in 1992, studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine, in 1994, and received an MFA from the University of California at Davis in 1997. Selected exhibitions include "USA Today, New American Art from the Saatchi Collection" at the Royal Academy of Arts in London; Whitney Biennial 2006; "Dereconstruction", curated by Matthew Higgs at Barbara Gladstone Gallery in New York; "Leg opens door / 1963" at Yvon Lambert in Paris and Georg Kargl Fine Arts in Vienna. He is represented by Salon 94 in New York, Hotel Gallery in London, Jack Hanley in San Francisco and Yvon Lambert in Paris. Carter lives and works in New York.

  • After receiving my M.A., I moved to New York where I began showing paintings in '71. I continue to do so at the Nancy Hoffman Gallery. For the past 25 years, I have lived in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. I am two years away from retiring from teaching at the University of Vermont.
